[Special Lecture] The Northern Sea Route and Understanding the Eurasian Region

Loading Events

The shifting global political landscape and climate change-induced melting of sea ice are leading to an increase in the strategic value of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) and the burgeoning economic and geopolitical significance of the Eurasian region.

Consequently, there is a compelling need to examine various critical issues centered around the NSR, including climate change impacts, migration, and the evolving economic dynamics of the Arctic Circle, and to explore possibilities for new modes of cooperation.

This lecture will address the future of transport and trade networks connecting the Eurasian continent, proposing a pathway toward sustainable development. Furthermore, we aim to collectively envision and delineate the strategic vision and role that South Korea must pursue in the era of the Northern Sea Route.
